Tristan Manthey joined the firm in 1996. The primary focus of his practice is in bankruptcy law, and specifically reorganizations, workouts and creditors’ rights. He is also involved in some of the Firm’s larger insurance defense and commercial litigation cases. Mr. Manthey is certified as a Business Bankruptcy Specialist by the American Board of Certification. Mr. Manthey is listed in the 2010 edition of Louisiana Super Lawyers and Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel Edition. Mr. Manthey is also a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Manthey graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and science from the University of New Orleans in 1992. He graduated Cum Laude with a juris doctorate from Loyola University in 1996. While attending law school, Mr. Manthey served on the Moot Court Staff with honors.

Mr. Manthey is the current Chairman of the Bankruptcy Section for the Louisiana Bar Association. He previously served as the Vice-Chairman (2007) and Secretary-Treasurer (2005-2006) of the Bankruptcy Section. He is a member of the House of Delegates for the Louisiana Bar Association. He is a Fellow with the Louisiana Bar Foundation. He is a member of the Louisiana, American and Federal Bar Associations, and is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association. Mr. Manthey is an author for the bankruptcy section of the Recent Developments in the Louisiana Bar Journal, and the Federal Bar Association's Bankruptcy Law Sections weekly circuit updates. From 1996 to 1999, Mr. Manthey co-authored the Negligence and Insurance Law Chapter in the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Annual Survey of Louisiana Law. He was a CLE speaker at the following seminars: Bankruptcy Law and Practice in Louisiana (2001); Bankruptcy after the 3 Disasters – Katrina, Rita and the Bankruptcy Reform Act (2006); Recent Developments Under the Almost New Bankruptcy Law: A View From the Bench and the Bar (2007); and Landlord – Tenant Law in Louisiana (2009); Bankruptcy Litigation and Bankruptcy and Ethics for Lorman Education Services (2009); Lien Law and Bankruptcy for the New Orleans Bar Association (2009); Chapters 7, 11, 13 and Beyond for Loyola University (2009); and Updates and Recent Developments for Tulane Law School (2009).

Mr. Manthey is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Louisiana and the United States Court of Appeal for the Fifth Circuit; and is admitted to practice in the state of Texas.
